The release date for Sunshine Collective’s debut CD — Wanna Play? — was scheduled for February 23. We have ads coming out on Amazon, Facebook and in several industry trades, as well as a small PR campaign and finishing the website, which is still ‘under construction’, all gearing… up for the big date. All of that is going to happen, but – OOPS!

CDBaby, a fantastic indie music site, has selected Wanna Play? as an Editor’s Pick – Hooray! – and have posted it on their website (cdbaby.com) as “Available Now!” Oops…

Turns out, this early release is really a brilliant mistake…

Through Feb. 7th, CDBaby is donating one dollar from every cd and digital album purchased to Haitian relief efforts. So, rather than pulling our cd, left it up and decided that we will match CDBaby’s contributions with a donation of our own from the sale of either Wanna Play? and/or Stephanie’s 2003 eponymous debut – Stephanie Richards.

We’re honored to be selected as an Editor’s Pick at CDBaby and delighted to be able to help, in some small way, the people of Haiti.

Out with the old, in with the new – the new website! It has been in the works for the past couple of months, a long-needed refresh. One of the fantastic features is a CMS (Content Management System) that will allow me to update pages and posts pretty effortlessly, so I will be updating more frequently, thanks to the great work of the folks at Elative Marketing. A few trailers and spots I had hoped would be on the site on launch day were regretfully not in my hands in time, but I will be adding them as they arrive. I hope you enjoy the new environment. And have a happy, healthy new year!!!

I am happy to announce Our Winter Wonderland, the first single release of Sunshine Collective, with a free download. Sunshine Collective is a band that I started with my wife and longtime collaborator, Stephanie Richards. We wrote Our Winter Wonderland with our good friend John Charles and hope this new seasonal offering will be a keeper in your holiday mix. We are also looking forward to our full length debut, Wanna Play? which will be out this January. Summer Remix

It has been a productive summer mixing many campaigns including some Howie Mandel spots for the Game Show Awards, ABC Family campaigns such as Make It Or Break It and Lincoln Heights, as well as spots for Zaya Rum. Topped off the remixing duties with two different campaigns both due the same day(!): Cory in the House for Disney XD and GSN Live for GSN.

Dr. Phil’s The Doctors are Feelin’ Good

Feelin’ Good, performed by Kandace Ferrel, will be airing till May 20 in the new promo campaign for The Doctors which is a CBS production with Dr. Phil as executive producer. It is syndicated across the country. Check local listings for details. My wife Stephanie Richards and I co-wrote the song with Keith and Adrienne Follese (Faith Hill’s The Way You Love Me, Tim McGraw’s Something Like That). I produced the version that is airing for Beantown Productions.

We tracked the song at Phantom Vox, one of my favorite studios, with Adam Gust on drums, Nick Kirgo on guitar, Dan Lutz on bass, and I played keys and guitar. Kandace Ferrel performed the lead vocal with Stephanie Richards on backing vocals.

Disney XD 2009 Launch
