I scored this riveting documentary that recounts the story of two prisoners and one guard at the notorious Cambodian prison camp, Tuol Sleng, where only twelve of the tens of thousands of men, women and children survived. The film is directed by Doug Kass and narrated by The Killing Fields’ director Roland Joffé. This film was produced by Documentation Center of Cambodia (DC-Cam) for the ongoing trials of the perpetrators of the Genocide that took place when the Khmer Rouge took over Cambodia in 1975. The score was based on my composition Dharma which was originally composed for french horn, 16 cellos, harp and percussion, and is the piece that attracted the creators of this film to my work.
